Roofing Sales Representative / Business Development

Build a Roofing Sales Career Across Greater Seattle

Prospect, inspect roofs, prepare clear estimates, and close profitable roofing projects across the Greater Seattle Area.

Commercial roofer welding PVC membrane seams on a flat roof in Washington, ensuring waterproofing and durability during a professional roof replacement by Flat Roof Pros.

Location: Auburn, WA, with field appointments throughout the Greater Seattle Area
Compensation: Starting at $60,000 per year, plus commission and performance bonuses
Schedule: Full-time. Weekly in-person sales meeting at the Auburn office. Hybrid flexibility may be available when the field schedule permits.

Flat Roof Pros is growing, and we are looking for a sales professional who can create opportunities, earn trust in the field, and guide customers from the first conversation to a clear, well-documented roofing decision.

This is an active field sales role, not a desk-only position. You will prospect, inspect roofs, prepare estimates, follow up consistently, and close profitable projects across residential, multifamily, and commercial properties.

[heading-style-h4]The Product of This Role[heading-style-h4]

Signed, profitable roofing projects from qualified customers, with an accurate scope, clear expectations, and a clean handoff to operations.

[heading-style-h4]What You'll Do[heading-style-h4]

  • Build and manage your own sales pipeline; at least 70% of your opportunities are expected to be self-sourced.
  • Develop relationships with property managers, building owners, general contractors, homeowners, and past customers.
  • Perform thorough on-site roof inspections in changing weather conditions, including working from ladders and at heights.
  • Ask the right questions, document roof conditions with photos and notes, and identify the customer's real priorities.
  • Prepare accurate estimates and clear proposals for repair, restoration, or replacement options.
  • Present recommendations, answer questions, negotiate terms, and ask for the sale.
  • Maintain consistent follow-up and keep every opportunity current through the sales process.
  • Coordinate with estimating and operations so sold projects have a clear scope and a clean handoff.
  • Participate in weekly sales meetings at the Auburn office.

[heading-style-h4]What Success Looks Like[heading-style-h4]

  • A steady flow of qualified conversations, appointments, and roof inspections.
  • At least 70% of the sales pipeline comes from your own prospecting and relationship-building.
  • Estimates and proposals are delivered accurately and on time.
  • Follow-ups are completed, and opportunities do not sit without a clear next step.
  • Sales targets, close-rate goals, and booked-revenue goals are met.
  • Sold projects move to operations with accurate documentation and minimal scope confusion.

[heading-style-h4]What We're Looking For[heading-style-h4]

  • Five or more years of professional sales experience.
  • At least two years of outbound prospecting or business development experience.
  • Roofing, construction, property-services, or other field-service sales experience is preferred.
  • A track record of building relationships, handling objections, negotiating, and closing.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Detail-oriented follow-through and comfort working toward deadlines and measurable targets.
  • Reliable transportation and the ability to travel to the Auburn office and job sites throughout the Greater Seattle Area.
  • Comfort climbing ladders, working at heights, and conducting inspections outdoors in changing weather.
  • A team-first mindset and the ability to coordinate with estimating, production, and customer-service teams.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

[heading-style-h4]Your First 30 Days[heading-style-h4]

  • Learn Flat Roof Pros services, ideal customers, inspection standards, and sales process.
  • Shadow field inspections and demonstrate a safe, organized inspection routine.
  • Learn the estimating and proposal workflow and complete initial estimates with manager review.
  • Begin prospecting and build a tracked pipeline with clear next steps.
  • Demonstrate reliable follow-up, accurate notes, and clean handoffs.

Eligible full-time employees may receive:

  • Health insurance
  • Paid time off
  • Paid training
  • Flexible scheduling around field appointments
  • Commission pay
  • Performance bonuses
  • Opportunities to grow with the company

[heading-style-h4]This Role May Not Be a Fit If[heading-style-h4]

  • You are looking for a desk-only or fully remote position.
  • You prefer inbound leads and do not want to prospect consistently.
  • You are looking for temporary or part-time work.
  • You are not comfortable climbing ladders, working outdoors, or meeting customers on-site.

[heading-style-h4]Application Questions[heading-style-h4]

  • How many years of professional sales experience do you have?
  • How many years of outbound prospecting or business development experience do you have?
  • What methods have you used to generate your own leads?
